History of The Shipyards
The history of The Shipyards is the story of skilled and dedicated workers building great ships to carry the riches of the land across the sea. Shaping their dreams in wood and steel, their legacy has helped build the lifestyle we enjoy. Today, the Shipyards has been transformed into a vibrant reflection of its colourful past. The sweat of labour and the ring of steel have given way to community celebration and new pleasures inspired by our seafaring roots. The pride that drove the shipwrights to build bigger and more capable vessels is captured for the future in the new Shipyards. On this site, their work is done, but their memory has endured as we’ve built this next phase of the Shipyards.
